Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Pers.ws collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use the Pers.ws website, public creator pages, custom domains served through Pers.ws, and the authenticated studio at my.pers.ws (collectively, the "Service").
This Policy applies both to creators who use Pers.ws to publish content and manage a workspace, and to visitors who interact with public pages, tracked links, published documents, and gated or downloadable assets made available through the Service. Creators may have separate legal obligations for the content, scripts, analytics tools, and notices they choose to publish through the Service.
Information we collect
We collect information from you, from your use of the Service, and from our providers.
- Account and identity information. If you create an account, we receive account identifiers and profile information needed to authenticate you and operate your workspace.
- Profile, page, and file content. We collect the information you choose to publish or store in the Service, such as profile text, images, links, social handles, page content, uploaded assets, custom analytics IDs, custom tags, and custom domain settings.
- Billing and transaction information. If you purchase a paid plan or add-on, we receive subscription status, plan details, billing period information, transaction identifiers, and limited billing metadata. Full payment card details are handled by the payment processor, not by Pers.ws.
- Usage, device, and log information. We collect technical data such as IP address, user agent, request metadata, visited path, referrer host, and events tied to public surfaces, including page views, link clicks, page interactions, uploads, and asset downloads.
- Communications. If you contact us, we collect the information you provide in those messages and any follow-up correspondence.
- Information from providers and integrations. We may receive information from service providers that help us authenticate users, process subscriptions, manage infrastructure, connect domains, and operate analytics or storage functionality.
How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Provide, host, secure, and maintain the Service.
- Create and manage accounts, workspaces, slugs, and custom domains.
- Render public pages, process tracked links, and deliver uploaded or gated files.
- Process subscriptions, enforce entitlements, and manage renewals or cancellations.
- Measure product usage, prevent abuse, rate-limit traffic, and troubleshoot issues.
- Respond to support requests, send service messages, and communicate updates.
- Improve the Service, develop features, and generate aggregated reporting.
- Comply with legal obligations and protect the rights, safety, and integrity of Pers.ws.
Legal bases and processing grounds
Where applicable law requires a legal basis for processing, Pers.ws generally processes personal information to perform our contract with you, pursue our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the Service, comply with legal obligations, and, where required, based on your consent.
Our legitimate interests may include operating the Service, securing the platform, preventing abuse, measuring feature usage, improving performance, enforcing our Terms, and maintaining reliable hosting, billing, and analytics systems.
Public pages, creator tools, and third-party collection
Information that creators publish to public Pers.ws pages or connected custom domains is intended to be public and may be indexed by search engines, shared by visitors, cached by third parties, or viewed by anyone with the link unless the relevant feature is marked private or access controlled.
Pers.ws may record operational and product analytics for public surfaces, including page views, link clicks, page interaction events, and asset downloads. We use this information to operate creator analytics, prevent abuse, and understand how the Service is used.
If a creator enables Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, custom code, or other third-party tools on a page, those tools may collect information directly from visitors under the creator's own notices and the third party's policies. Creators are responsible for obtaining any required notices, permissions, or consents for those tools. Pers.ws is not responsible for third-party collection that occurs through creator-configured scripts, tags, or integrations.
Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain account history, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, protect the platform, and support legitimate business operations. Retention periods vary based on the type of data, whether the account remains active, and applicable legal requirements.
Public content may remain visible until it is deleted, unpublished, or the relevant account or workspace is removed. Certain records may persist in backups, logs, fraud prevention systems, analytics systems, or billing records for a limited period after deletion.
Your choices and rights
You can often access, update, or remove information directly in your account, such as profile content, links, pages, files, analytics IDs, and billing settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable data protection laws. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, your rights may include:

- Objection. The right to object to processing of your personal information based on our legitimate interests.
- Withdrawal of consent. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
- Supervisory authority. You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority in your country of residence.

Pers.ws does not use fully automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects on individuals without human involvement. Where we use automated systems for abuse detection, rate limiting, or entitlement enforcement, a human review process is available upon request.
